About

I’m just an ordinary guy with 60years and more behind him! You think I would be worldly wise by now but decision-making is not my best forte. Thankfully I have an irreplaceable wife who usually sees the trouble ahead before I do!

Our children flew the nest long ago. Andrew is in the Fire Service working in Southampton, England. Our two girls, Rachel and Helen live in yurts (kind of Mongolian huts!) in Andalusia, Spain. It is a frugal life they lead but if you’ve got a pioneer spirit let it take you where it will I say.

Anne and I live on the edge of beautiful Snowdonia, North Wales, UK. We overlook the Conwy estuary and have the benefit of countryside and coast on the doorstep. Often we can take our dog Brandy on the beach or into the hills where we delight in the openness and beauty of the landscape. We are both committed Christians as you will see if you stay with the blog. This means we see things rather differently from most folk around! I trust you’ll give us a hearing and maybe come to experience the reality of the living Christ for yourself. It is this experience we were all made for and which allows us to see something of the fire God has for us.

In one of my favourite poems, the Jesuit poet Gerard Manley Hopkins expressed it like this,

” the fire that breaks from thee then, a billion times told lovelier, more dangerous, O my Chevalier”

From “The Windhover” composed 1877

  1. Thank you for your complimentary visit to my blog. I’m honored that you would take the time to read and post and invite me to stop by your “faraway” blog.

May the Lord cause His face to shine upon you and direct those steps ordained just for you. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
